Moonshine Acres Starlett Moment was our first milk goat. She had nice, long, milkable teats and produced for eight to nine months. She was our best all-around milker from 3 – 6 years of age: she peaked at 4 pounds and, at 6 years of age, sustained her lactation for 12 months! In 2003, she gave us triplet bucklings, and we kept one of them,
Antiquity Oaks John Adams, hoping that he’d pass on his mother’s nice long teats. His only daughter, Antiquity Oaks Carmen, earned her AR milk star as a second freshener, and as a third freshener finished her AGS permanent championship, earning her ARMCH. Her son Mercury sired Antiquity Oaks Anne Bronte 4*D VG who is the mother of AOF Peg’s Agnes Grey 5*D 1*M.
Star worked hard for us for six years, and in 2008, we decided that at age 9, it was time for her to retire. She enjoyed a long retirement in our pastures and passed away peacefully in her sleep at the age of 14 1/2.

when Star was almost 6 years old, at 27 days fresh.
